Counsellors Therapy Pot Membership agreement

 Counsellors Therapy Pot will:

1.      Handle members data in line with GDPR regulations, retain membership of ICO, and always maintain confidentiality

2.      Act within the best interests of our members

3.      Use the BACP ethical framework as a frame of reference for our work and contact with our members

4.      Respond to email queries as promptly as reasonably possible

5.      We endeavour to match each member to a counsellor within two weeks. If it is going to be longer than this then we will let you know.

6.      Ensure that we only accept qualified counsellors who are part of a membership organisation such as the BACP, UKCP or NCS (NCPS) and who have appropriate insurance

7.      Allocate a new counsellor to you as soon as possible if your current allocation is not suitable (and you have given the relationship a fair chance) or if your counsellor can no longer provide sessions

 

Member responsibilities as a counsellor:

1.      To abide by the ethical framework of their respective membership organisation (eg. BACP, NCPS, ACC, BPC, HGI, UKCP) when dealing with their clients

2.      Counsellors must put in place their own working agreement with their client

3.      To give at least two weeks notice should they need to discontinue the counselling or membership of Counsellors Therapy Pot

4.      To ensure that membership of their professional governing body and insurance provision is current

5.      To act within the best interests of their client

6.      To speak with their client about any Counsellors Therapy Pot supervision groups or other events they plan to attend so that a course of action can be decided should the counsellor plan to attend the same event as their client

7.      To provide the date of first and last counselling session the counsellor has with their client

8.      When new client contact details are received to contact them within five working days

 

Member responsibilities as a client:

1.      To keep their counsellor updated regarding their availability

2.      To let CTP know if their allocated counsellor does not contact them within five working days after the allocation email has been sent out

  

General notes about being a member

 1.      By agreeing to be a member of Counsellors Therapy Pot you are agreeing that we can contact you with relevant information, usually via email

2.      Please make sure that our emails and the emails of your counsellor and client do not go into your junk mail folder

3.      Please note that this is not an emergency provision. If you feel that you are in immediate danger due to your mental health, please contact your health care provider

4.      Counsellors Therapy Pot are not responsible for the quality of the therapy or the nature of the therapeutic relationship

5.      All sessions take place online on a platform agreeable to both parties

6.      By becoming a member, you are consenting to your contact details being shared with a therapist and a client

7.      All arrangements for sessions are between the client and therapist so it is up to the individuals concerned if they wish to change the day and times of sessions
