About us

Counsellors Therapy Pot was founded by two practising counsellors, Beth and Niamh, who saw how many professionals in the helping world struggle to access affordable, high-quality therapy and wellbeing support. What began over a pot of tea and mutual encouragement has grown into a supportive network for counsellors and other caring professionals.

About Beth

Hi, I’m Beth: a trauma-informed, accredited integrative counsellor and EMDR practitioner based in Oxford.

Before qualifying as a counsellor, I spent seven years in Human Resources, where I realised first-hand how the right support can transform both people and workplaces. This experience, alongside navigating my own challenges in private practice, fuels my passion for counsellor and workplace wellbeing.

My trauma-informed training continually reminds me that supporting others, whether as a therapist, social worker, nurse, or teacher, inevitably impacts the practitioner as well.

I believe that practitioner wellbeing isn’t a luxury; it’s a foundation for ethical, compassionate care.

This belief drives my work with Counsellors Therapy Pot, where we create spaces and resources for counsellors, and other professionals, to thrive personally and professionally.

About Niamh

After over 30 years in employment, I only recently discovered what I want to be when I grow up.  I see this career as a journey, with new learning opportunities presenting themselves every day.  I am currently trying to celebrate imperfection, the joy of being good enough.  If this manifests itself through art and creativity, even better!

I have a BSc in Psychology from the Open University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London.  I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I currently work as a Solution-Focused Therapist within the counselling service of a large UK-based university.

I currently share my life with two cats, a husband and a collection of books that is simultaneously too big and never enough.
